Better Place is currently providing infrastructure and support to two government trials.
The Victorian Government Electric Vehicle Trial
The Victorian Government’s Electric Vehicle Trial will run over 5 years and help Victoria to better understand the process, timelines and barriers for transitioning to electric vehicle technologies.
As part of its involvement, Better Place is providing charging infrastructure to support extended range driving and the smart software and systems to intelligently manage electric car charging for households, businesses and other organisations participating in the trial.
Smart Grid Smart City
In mid-2010 a consortium led by Ausgrid won the tender for the Federal Government’s $100M Smart Grid Smart City project. Better Place is providing a trial electric car recharging network for the project in the Sydney and Hunter region, include private and public charge stations to support extended range driving and the software and systems to intelligently manage charging through the Better Place Operations Centre.
